To ensure their bulbs last, Philips have produced their headlight bulbs made from UV block quart glass, which filters out potentially dangerous ultraviolet rays protecting modern plastic lenses. This creates a higher level of resistance from the risk of explosion caused by water particles on the surface of lamps, and the extremes of temperature.
